East Mississippi Electric Power Association is gearing up for its 5th Annual Shoot For A Cure scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at Camp Binachi in Lauderdale County. Last year, EMEPA employees and supporters raised over $20,000 for the American Cancer Society through this premier fundraising event. EMEPA’s Relay For Life team has been recognized as the top fundraising team at Relay For Life of Lauderdale County for two years in a row with hopes to raise even more in 2018.
“This event not only gives us the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun and friendly competition, but also allows us to help support those who are battling cancer,” said EMEPA Chief Executive Officer Randy Carroll. “We’ve all been touched in some way by this horrible disease, and helping to raise funds that go to research and patient support is the least we can do.”
In addition to the Shoot For A Cure event, EMEPA will be raffling off a Remington 870 7-round, 12-gauge Tactical shotgun donated by Thomas Gun and Pawn in Meridian. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased at any EMEPA office.
